Poway is a special community—
and it deserves serious, capable leadership.

I’m running for the Poway City Council vacancy because District 2 needs an experienced representative who can step in immediately and focus on the city’s priorities.

“I’ve built trust with residents and strong working relationships with city staff and community leaders–and my record shows I make principled, independent-minded decisions that prioritize Poway values.

“I hope you’ll join me in bringing proven experience and capable, caring leadership to Poway City Council.”

~Anita Edmondson

Anita Edmondson has served on the City Council before—and done so with distinction. She understands the job, the issues, and the responsibility. She also stepped up when it mattered most—voting against the Life Time Fitness Center proposal as a council member and helping lead a successful recall of the previous council member to restore integrity and accountability to City Hall.

Bring stability and sound judgment
back to the District 2 council seat.

“When I was appointed to the District 2 council seat after Barry Leonard’s departure, I made a commitment to serve with integrity and independent judgment. And I honored my pledge not to run for the seat in 2024.

“During my time on council, I approached every issue the same way: ask questions, understand the facts, and listen to community input. I will uphold that same commitment when elected.”

EXPERIENCED.

Anita is on record voting in the best interests of residents. She was the lone Council NO vote on the proposed Life Time Fitness Center, demonstrating that she prioritizes reason and residents’ voices with strong independence. Over her 12-year tenure on the GVCA board, Anita served as a watch dog and advocate for north Poway residents, including a successful opposition to the Maderas Hotel ballot measure.

“When I am elected, I will continue to be an accessible, independent-minded representative advocating for Poway values on behalf of residents in District 2, and city-wide.”
